Dear family & friends,

Well, today’s the day.  We offered MUCH LESS for the land than their asking price and finally agreed on something close — PRAISE GOD.

Today at 8am EST, we are meeting at the Notary place to sign the papers and hand them the funds — every penny of which has come from you, beginning back in 2009 when I stepped out in crazy faith (looking back!) to come to a city I’d only just heard of because I’d already fallen in love with kids I had never met.

Last night as I was “counting the cost” of what today would mean for me personally, I walked back down memory lane, and it didn’t take more than a moment for there to be such a passion, such a desperation in me, that I realized no matter what the cost, no matter what is going to inevitably be ahead, it can’t not be done.  And I’m so honored to be a part of it.

THANK YOU for believing with me and investing in what God has been doing all these years.

I’ll never forget a verse I read when I first arrived that winter and was completely overwhelmed by the lives of the children:

“Though He brings grief, He will show COMPASSION, so great is His unfailing love.  For He does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men.”  Lamentations 3:32-33

Please remember us in prayer today.
